Internet Service Providers (ISP)

What is an ISP?
ISPs are sometimes also referred to as Internet Access Providers (IAP) . An Internet Service Provider ia an organisation that provides access to the Internet and related services.
An ISP might provide dial-up access, a cable connection, an ADSL connection, or other type of Internet access. In India, there are aprox more than 150 ISPs.
ISPs provide different kinds of connections which allow you to access the Internet.
i) Dialup Accounts : This is the slowest kind of connection.
ii) Broadband : Broadband includes several transmission technologies, such as
  1. Digital Subscriber Line (DSL)
  2. Cable
  3. Wireless
  4. Satellite
